Admittedly, it’s not been a vintage season for the club. But despite luck not always being with us on the pitch, every member of the squad has worked hard to try and turn things round. As we think about where we can improve for next season, no end of season would be complete without some cheesy love-in style awards, so here are this season’s winners...
PLAYERS' PLAYER OF THE SEASON
1st: JOHN SHEEHAN
"A great versatile player, he gave 100% every game and managed plenty of goals with it. Not only did he give his all but he was consistently good every week. And without doubt, he was the star of the show in Bournemouth too."
2nd: JON WARD
"The rock the team is built around, Jon again excelled this season. He threw himself into every challenge and in the way of every shot like he was 18 again. Totally committed to the cause from start to finish."
3rd: ROB HOLMES
"Rob had an excellent season. His delivery gave the team quality, you knew if you popped the ball wide to Rob, our strikers would be given a good cross to get on the end of. And his workrate was superb too."
CLUB MAN OF THE SEASON:
"Brian was there at training every week and at every game without fail. Always willing to run the line and never once heard him complain about being on the bench. When he was on the pitch he never let the team down"
MANAGER'S PLAYER OF THE SEASON:
"What more can you say about John that hasn't already been said. He fully deserved the manager's recognition after a fine season."
MOST IMPROVED PLAYER OF THE SEASON:
"Wadey had a great season, where he stepped up every time he played. He solved numerous problems in defence and offered the occasional John Barnes styley run; it's just a shame he can't shoot for shit."
GLOBAL GOLDEN BOOT:
"Seany scored a lot of goals and came up with the goods consistently. His strike rate showed that he knows where the goal is, and more often than not he will hit the target."
GOAL OF THE SEASON:
DARYL FELTON v St Albans North
"A fantastic strike from miles out, it had to be a superb goal to see off some of the competition it was up against. Well done Dah-rule!"
