Bad times..., 12 November 2016 11:21

8th October 2016, Hunton Bridge, Home (League)

Another week, another collapse from Global cost them any chance of points against long-time foes Hunton Bridge.

Once again, Global took the lead when Tom Jackson fired home after Chris Palmer’s initial effort was spilt by the visitors’ goalkeeper.

Cue the collapse – three first half goals saw Hunton Bridge into a happier place than Rolf Harris in a playground, and the home side went into the break two goals adrift.

Global promptly threw everything at Hunton Bridge in the second half, and eventually found a way through when Ben Pegram’s free kick was made a hash of by the ‘keeper. The ball was going in anyway, but Wardy was on hand to bundle the ball over the line from a yard out.

Despite Global’s best efforts, Hunton Bridge clung on for the three points, and Global were left to lick their wounds after a fifth game without a win.
